PARKING FOR CHURCH HOUSE VISITORS
Church House visitors must now park in the Cathedral's new garage
(entrance on Wisconsin Avenue). Parking tickets can be validated for the
diocese's invited guests and committee members. Surface parking
restrictions are lifted after 3:30 p.m., so parking for evening meetings
can be done at street level and validation will not be needed. Questions
may be directed to ParkingInfo at cathedral.org

URBAN ADVENTURE SET FOR OCT. 6
The diocese's Committee on Urban Ministry will hold its third Urban
Adventure from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6 at St. Stephen and the
Incarnation. Speaker will be Mary Nelson, former executive director of
Bethel New Life, a community development ministry in Chicago. Nelson
will introduce Asset-Based Community Development, an approach that
identifies a community's strengths as foundations for development. She
will then guide parish delegations through an assessment of their own
communities. Please try to assemble a team of at least five church
members and representatives from your church's surrounding community.
There is no charge for this event. Lunch provided; parking available.

LATINO MINISTRY CELEBRATION - SAVE THE DATE
This year's Latino Ministry Celebration is set for Oct. 13 at Our
Savior, Hillandale.
Eucharist at 6 p.m., Bishop Chane presiding; dinner and fiesta will
follow.

WASHINGTON EPISCOPAL CLERGY ASSOCIATION MEETING
WECA will begin its first meeting of the 2007-2008 program year at 9:45
a.m. Sept. 11 with coffee at the Cathedral College. There will be a
10:30 a.m. Eucharist in Washington National Cathedral's Bethlehem Chapel
(Bishop John Bryson Chane will celebrate and preach), followed by WECA
business, announcements, and welcoming of new clergy at 11:30 a.m. At
noon, all are invited to go to Cactus Cantina (dutch treat) for lunch.

APPLY NOW FOR THE 2008 SUMMER COLLEGIUM
The Summer Collegium, a project that supports small congregations, is
accepting applications for next year's event, set for June 25-July 3,
2008. This all-expenses-paid conference is open to clergy who pastor
small congregations (100 or fewer average Sunday attendance) and their
spouses or partners. Non-ordained pastors also are invited. Applications

by Dec. 15.

The Episcopal Peace Fellowship is looking for a communications person
who can manage a Web site and edit a newsletter, for 10 hours a week.
The communicator can work from a remote station and does not need to
operate from the EPF's Chicago office. Compensation is $20 an hour.

Registration is now open for the Parish Leadership Dinner at

in Hearst Hall and is open to rectors, interim rectors,
priests-in-charge, junior and senior wardens, regional conveners and

FALL MINISTRY CONFERENCE AT VIRGINIA THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY 
On Oct. 15, the Virginia Theological Seminary will hold a one-day Fall
Ministry Conference at its campus in Alexandria, Va. Learn about the
seminary's programs, talk to faculty and students, go to classes, have

PEACE VIGIL
The Washington Chapter of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship will hold "A

12-STEP EUCHARIST
St. Alban's, D.C., and its Hope for Recovery ministry team will offer a
12-Step Eucharist at 7:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month.
It's not necessary to be in a 12-step program to attend. Please contact

HONDURAS COORDINATING COMMITTEE EVENT
The Honduras Coordinating Committee will hold a gathering from 7 to 9
p.m. Nov. 8 at Ascension, Silver Spring (633 Sligo Avenue). Bishop Lloyd

A panel discussion: "The US and Iran: a Difficult History" is set for 7

The Tutu Institute for Prayer & Pilgrimage is offering a Women's India

The Commission on Ministry has approved new guidelines for those
discerning a call to ministry. The guidelines can be found at

The diocese's Committee on Racial Reconciliation will conduct an
expanded and re-formatted Racial Reconciliation Training program on  *
