INTERFAITH CONVOCATION ON HUNGER 
The Second Interfaith Convocation on Hunger, organized by Bread for the
World and sponsored by the Interfaith Anti-Hunger Coordinators, will
take place at 6:30 p.m. June 11 at Washington National Cathedral.
William J. Shaw, president of the National Baptist Convention, USA, will
preach. Bishop John B. Chane will join leaders from Roman Catholic,
Orthodox and Protestant denominations, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim,
and Jewish traditions, and other faith groups to call for a renewed
commitment to end hunger. The convocation is part of Bread for the
World's Gathering 2007, Sowing Seeds: Growing A Movement. For more

and Adobe Photoshop.

Illustrator, CSS, PHP, Dreamweaver and e-mail marketing.

LEARN ABOUT THE RELIGIOUS LIFE
Women who are interested in learning more about the religious life are
invited to spend a week (July 11-17) with members of The Community of
St. Francis in San Francisco. Participants are invited to share in the
life of the sisters as part of discerning a vocation to
religious life. There is no fee, but donations will be accepted. For

TASTE AND SEE...AN EXPERIENTIAL PRAYER CLASS 
Join the Rev. Mpho Tutu on the following dates - June 9, Oct. 20 and
Nov. 17 - for "Taste and See" an experiential prayer class. The two-hour
classes will be held at Christ Church, Alexandria, Va., beginning at 10
a.m. (9:30 a.m. registration). Pre-registration is $12; pre-registration

The Transitional Housing Corporation and THC Affordable Housing Inc. are

JOURNEY INTO ISLAM - AN INTERFAITH DISCUSSION
Journey Into Islam: A Discussion with Bishop John Bryson Chane, Rabbi

discuss what religious leaders can do to promote dialogue and friendship

The Episcopal Peace Fellowship is offering a workshop on "Active

CONCERT OF SACRED AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC
"Revelations & Psalms," a concert of sacred music by African American
composers/arrangers Howard Roberts and M. Roger Holland will take place

RACIAL RECONCILIATION TRAINING DATES SET
The diocese's Committee on Racial Reconciliation will conduct an
expanded and re-formatted Racial Reconciliation Training program on May
11-12 at Grace, Silver Spring (5-9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday). Cost is $25 per person. Registration is limited to 40.
Refreshments and meals will be provided. Certification will be provided
to those completing the entire 12 hours of training; no partial credit
will be provided. Advanced registration is required, and closes May 8.

dates have also been scheduled, for: * Nov. 2-3 * Feb. 8-9, 2008 * May
16-17, 2008 * Nov. 14-15, 2008. Advance registration is required, and

ANGUS DUN GRANT APPLICATIONS DUE
The Angus Dun Fund was established to assist canonically resident clergy
with financial subsidy for continuing education. Grants are limited to
$1,000 per person per year and require each applicant to demonstrate the
benefit their program will have for their parish and/or the diocese. The
deadline for applications is May 29. For further information, please

COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM
The Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver Law Firm has an annual grant program
to support organizations with educational programs focused on improving
the lives of disadvantaged children in the Washington, D.C., area.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits and community-based
organizations. The deadline for applications is Aug. 3.
Approximately $35,000 is available to fund three awards, ranging from

The fourth annual Bishop's Appeal will be mailed to members of the

CATHEDRAL'S NEW GARAGE IS NOW OPEN
Washington National Cathedral's new parking garage is now open. Visitors
to Church House should enter the garage from the main entrance off
Wisconsin Avenue and park on the first or second level. The parking
ticket received upon entrance can be validated for the diocese's invited
guests and committee members. Surface parking restrictions after 3:30
p.m. are lifted, so parking for evening meetings can be done at street
level and validation will not be needed.

SPRING CLERGY CONFERENCE 
The diocese's Spring Clergy Conference is set for May 22-24 at Shrine
Mont, Va. Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Margaret B. Guenther.

SAFEGUARDING GOD'S CHILDREN TRAINING
Dates and locations for Safeguarding God's Children training sessions
(prevention of child abuse training required by all paid church
employees and those working with children and youth - paid or volunteer)
